About Webuye Town
Webuye is a small town that is growing at a fast rate in Bungoma County. It is set along the famous Chetambe Hills, which is crossed by River Nzoia creating a beautiful waterfall at the intersection called Nabuyole Waterfalls. It has a population of about 100,000 people majority of them being youths. Webuye has a county hospital and a number of private hospitals, more than 5 supermarkets, an Upcoming Mall, small retail and wholesale businesses, hotels, primary, secondary and tertiary educational institutions.
Webuye was previously an industrious town having a huge piece of land set aside for the Pan Paper manufacturing plant that produced papers. The plant created a lot of jobs for the people of Webuye but due to poor management & corruption, the plant is no longer operational. This lead to increased unemployement.
